Knockoffs – These watches usually cost the manufacturer no more than $40
to make and are known for their price to quality ratio. From afar, your
Aunt Millie and that drunk brunette you met in a dark bar might buy
that this is a real Rolex. But inside these watches use generic
movements and lower quality components. For a while these knockoff
watches mostly came from Japan. These watches might look ok, but their
Japanese movements, which can be a bit clunky, are a dead giveaway.
Expect to pay under $200 for one of these.
I have been seeing a
steady decline in the quality of several replicas, most notably replicas
of watches with automatic chronograph movements. These include replicas
of the Rolex Daytona, Omega Speedmaster and Breitling Navitimer. Just
about every replica I see is utilizing a low quality mainland Chinese
copy of the Valjoux 775X-series movement. These watches often have both
running and functionality problems. They are often WILDLY inaccurate,
sometimes running as much as 30 minutes per day fast. The chronograph
functions often don’t work properly and frequently fail to reset to
“zero” as they should.voir plus montre copie et IWC
